      Most of the structures on my layout are built up from kits, some of plastic and some of wood. Kits are: Atlas, Bachmann, Cornerstone, Model Power, Kibri, Laser Kit by AMB and Laser Art Structures by Branchline Trains. Although the laser cut wood kits are more difficult to build and require more painting they have a more realistic appearance when completed. The wood structures are my preference.

and very thin pieces of pine.

A 225 scale sq. ft. cabin. The roofing on this one is thin paper strips on a wood sub-roof.
