Mountain and Tunnel

The beginning of scenery building

rr

N scale railroad

Center section from tunnel to the foothills.

Scenery construction began with building a mountain with a tunnel, mainly to fill the corner and give the train the effect of disappearing then reappearing. The structure is wood frame with newspaper and plaster soaked towels and is removable as there is no access from under the table. All subsequent built up scenery is also removable. Who knows, we might move again.

The windmill and barbed wire fence are from Yesteryear Creations. The corral fence is Model Builder's Supply Line. Both are "brass etched" and hand painted. Trees are Heki and Bosch. All of the scenery is scratch built. (See windmill close-up in Structures and Details)
